2016 Australian National Cross Country Championships

Isaias Beyn (white rimmed sunglasses) and Osman Saleh are two Queensland runners, sponsored by Cognitive Financial Partners, selected by Qld Athletics to attend the 2016 Australian National Cross Country Championships at Stromlo Forest, Canberra on August 20th.

Both runners struggled with the 9 degree temperature and windy conditions in contrast to the Qld Cross Country Championships held in early August in 23 degree temperatures at Maleny Golf Course.

Both are well known competitors in QLD running, with Isaias having won the Noosa Half Marathon this year in a 3 minute race record and then achieving first Australian home in the Gold Coast Marathon in an injury affected 2hour 16min time. Isaias came to Australia 12 months ago and was recently granted permanent refugee status having fled his native Eritrea.
